UHBW is doing great things to improve the health and happiness of every patient in all 10 of our hospitals in Bristol city centre, South Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

Together with our local NHS, we push the limits of what’s possible. We go above and beyond to transform the experiences patients have in our hospitals, wherever the need is greatest. We bring moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most. And we are committed to helping our hospitals go that extra mile for you and everyone who means the world to you.

 THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

We will fund the little things that go a long way to relieve anxiety, promote recovery and healing, as well as providing the added extras that make a patient’s stay that bit easier. From iPads, worry monsters and games for children, to book trolleys and in-hospital arts activities for staff and patients.

We want every patient to know we are listening and responding to what will make their experience that little bit easier.

 HEALING ENVIRONMENTS AND SPACES TO PROVIDE DIGNITY, PRIVACY AND EMPATHY

We’ll transform tired, underused spaces, from wards to gardens, into essential healing spaces to help patients and staff take a breath from hospital life. We want every hospital to have at least one of these spaces to offer patients privacy for any life-changing decisions and conversations.

 EQUITABLE ACCESS FOR ALL

Working professionally alongside UHBW, we’ll tailor and focus funding and improvements so that everyone; including our most vulnerable, disadvantaged or under-represented community members, has the best possible experience for their individual needs.

 WORLD-CLASS TECHNOLOGY, TREATMENTS, KNOWLEDGE AND MEDICAL RESEARCH

Let’s keep the world’s eyes on Bristol and Weston. We’ll fund the most innovative and emerging technologies and treatments that can change or even save a patient’s life that wouldn’t otherwise be available.

We want every member of staff to have access to high quality development opportunities to keep patient care standards high and knowledge transfer flowing. UHBW’s research studies often set the benchmark for the evolution of treatments, and we’ll continue to support these pioneering programmes.

As we continue to rebuild after the pandemic, we’ll continue to support staff’s wellbeing, safeguarding their physical and mental health.
