Kurtis Walters, Personal Training Instructor, tells us just how easy it is to improve our health.

 It must have been a daunting prospect to have an audience of over 70 year olds but we quickly warmed to him as we realised that we were well capable of taking on the physical exercises he was suggesting for people of our age.

One of our members, Brian, who introduced this speaker, says of him, "I encountered Kurtis on an NHS Escape Pain course for 5 weeks when I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knees.  He gave tips and exercises to assist and specialises in exercise for older adults.  A very impressive, patient and kind man who is very good at his job."

He is also very good at relating to his audience and his presentation very quickly developed into a two-way conversation as members keenly sought answers to their own particular interests.

We were particularly interrested in his small group classes and it will be interesting to see whether a number of our members take-up the opportunity to improve their health and commit to joining one of his classes to investigate his alternative and holistic health schemes.

Kurtis clearly has the experience of dealing with patients of advanced years and may possibly make them feel and act a little younger. We live in hope!!
