Members of the club were delighted today to induct Elfriede Seath into membership of our club.
Introduced by Richard Brown, who has known her for over 5 years, and inducted by stand-in President, PP John Walker, Elfriede becomes our sole current lady member and is known to several of our members as the Operations Director and Trustee of the Redland Green and Bristol Lawn Tennis Clubs, proprietors of the premises where we hold our weekly meetings.
During her working life she spent 33 years in education both in the private and public sectors where among other posts she spent many years working for the MOD in Germany, both teaching the children of the Armed Forces and also to soldiers involved in the community.
She was also Head of the English Department at the Grosvenor High School in Bath where she taught mainly English, English Literature, IT and German, plus, she also coached Public Speaking.
Her recreational life includes many activity hobbies including tennis, walking, skiing, sailing, travel and visiting National Trust properties as well as being an avid reader.
Elfriede is clearly a very interesting character whose enthusiasm, life skills and wide-ranging experiences will be a huge asset in our club and we warmly welcome her into our group.
