Lucy has made several visits to the club in her role of Clifton Village BID Manager.
The objective of this role is to raise the awareness of activities in the village and in doing so to promote local business opportunities for local traders.
An example of this was the succesful Clifton Village Day event which we Rotarians attended with our gazebo in which Has and Anup tested the blood pressure of passers by.
We also had a 'speakers corner' for young children to try public speaking. They could about any subject they wished and, whilst we were disappointed more children did not try this challenging idea, we learned from the experience for attempting this activity in the future.
The streets were certainly busy on the day and it is to be expected that shop keepers were more then a little pleased with Lucy's promotion.
Christmas is coming up very quickly and another attraction is to follow the Christmas tree route arround the village.
Lucy is also thinking about helping promote our Swimarathon and our 'Young speakers/musicians/cooks' in our Rotary competitions.
We have welcomed Lucy into our club in the strong belief that we can work together to promote both Clifton and Rotary.
